Chicken AnimalFINDER

The genesig Easy AnimalFINDER Kit for Gallus gallus (Chicken) is designed for the real-time PCR detection of chicken derived material primarily in non-animal samples such as pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. The kit can also be used to detect animal DNA in food manufacturing wash downs or in highly processed foods.

Intended for use with the genesig q16 real-time PCR instrument, the kit is designed to have the broadest detection profile possible whilst remaining specific to the chicken genome. The chicken mitochondrial DNA primer and probe sequences in this kit have 100% homology with a broad range of chicken sequences based on a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis. All AnimalFINDER kits have the same genesig q16 cycling protocol to allow multiple species to be tested during one run.

The inclusion of an internal extraction control template allows the user to definitely confirm the absence of animal material when no animal DNA is present.

All kinds of sample material suited for nucleic acid extraction can be used. Please ensure the extracted nucleic acid is suitable in terms of purity, concentration, and DNA integrity. For DNA extraction we recommend the genesig Easy DNA/RNA Extraction Kit, or the genesig Easy LysoBead Direct-to-PCR Extraction Kit.
