PrimerDesign is regularly audited by the British Standards Institute to ensure that high quality standards are being met in all areas of the business. This includes our design and manufacturing process, our quality control systems, our customer care, administration and management systems.

Quality is fundamental to PrimerDesign's success and reputation. We take great pride in ensuring that all of the products that our customers receive are meticulously quality controlled to ensure that they get fantastic real-time PCR data for their project.

So PrimerDesign have achieved ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. What was the main reason for going for this?
"I think it is important to emphasise that we have always had robust quality systems in place and we have absolute confidence in these systems. So for us ISO was not a revolution about changing what we do but rather a great opportunity to have a well respected accreditation body look at our systems in detail to give our customers the same confidence that we have."

What does it mean for PrimerDesign now that you have this accreditation?
"From an outside perspective looking in this should mean that people view us in a slightly different light. This is no longer us saying we do a good job, this is now someone else saying we do a good job.

As far as what this means for us internally going forward – this is no different. We strive to continually improve and put the customers at the heart of all we do. In everything we do we hope to be able to demonstrate our core values of Professionalism, Expertise, Friendliness and Dedication. So don’t worry just because we are doing things the ‘proper’ way you can still expect the same friendly service you are used to!"

So what’s next? Are there any ambitions to get other accreditations?
"If it helps us to provide a better quality of product and a better service then the answer is yes. As we continue to grow it is important that we maintain quality in all aspects of the business and that is my main responsibility. This may lead to additional accreditation as we progress, such as ISO 13485 that we are looking into at the moment. "
